STUDENTS SECURE ACCESS ALL AREAS TO FILM SET
Media students gained exclusive behind the scenes access to the production of an upcoming film when Bury College was transformed into a movie set for the day.
Bury College University Centre Creative Media Production HND students secured industry experience in both acting and production roles during the filming of scenes for upcoming movie – The Pebble & the Boy.
The film is based on a 17-year-old-lad who heads out on a road trip of discovery to find out more about his late father, who was widely regarded as one of the towns biggest Mods. The Bury College Millennium Centre was handpicked as a location to shoot scenes of the young boy leaving College.
The Media students were delighted to be able to put the skills they had learnt in the classroom into a real film setting and experience a work placement which will add great value to their CVs.
Creative Media Production student Kaitlyn Jackson, who is a former Woodhey High School pupil, said of the experience, “It was great to be on-set and get an inside look into the filming and production of a film. I gained an understanding of the amount of time, effort, planning and energy that goes into filming just one scene. I also had the opportunity to meet and speak to the Director which was amazing as I asked him questions about script writing and he gave me some really good advice.”
The Pebble & the Boy is directed by the award winning Chris Green and is a public funded project with filming taking place in locations across Manchester and Brighton.
