A Travel student is graduating with a degree and a job within a competitive industry following her Bury College University Centre studies.

Chloe Curwen has secured a Marketing Assistant position at Blue Water Holidays, a worldwide cruise company. The 21 year old is delighted to be leaving the University Centre with an International Tourism Management BSc (Hons) degree and to be taking her first step into a competitive industry.

Chloe said of her job success, “I feel really lucky to have a job in the sector I’ve been studying for the past five years. I’m grateful to now have a job which will help further develop my skills and progress my career.”

During her Bury College University Centre studies, the former All Saints’ Catholic High School pupil from Rawtenstall covered areas such as strategic marketing management for hospitality and tourism as well as special event management.

Chloe feels her training prepared her well for career progression. Chloe added, “The marketing and international tourism modules I covered during my course have helped me massively. My tutors have been so supportive and pushed me in the right direction. My experience at Bury College University Centre has been amazing from start to finish and enjoyed trips to New York and Dubai.”

In the new role, Chloe will be learning about the role of a marketer, digital marketing campaigns and the different services the 5* cruise ship provides.

Debbie Matthews, Bury College Travel Team Leader said of Chloe’s success, “I am so proud of Chloe. She has been a diligent and dedicated student throughout her three years here and I’m so pleased she has gained the role she deserves. I wish her every success in the future.”
