International Business Management Foundation Degree (FdSc)

About the course:

This course will prepare you for a career in the business sector or support your development if you are already working in a business environment. Foundation degrees combine study with work-based learning or practical work experience and are equivalent to a Higher National Diploma (HND) or the first two years of an honours degree.

This practical course will give you applied skills and knowledge in a range of business management areas including marketing, finance, managing people and organisational behaviour. A placement is a required part of the course and the college can help you find an appropriate placement, if you require assistance.

You will be taught through a mix of classes and tutorials and use case studies to give you a thorough understanding of the practical application of business theories in the world of work. There are no formal exams, though there are some class assessed activities. Assessments are based on work-related scenarios and will use specific applied examples that are directly relevant to the workplace.

Throughout your studies you will be offered support in the development of relevant study skills such as IT, independent learning, communications, time management and group work. In addition, skills support sessions will be provided.

Classes are designed to fit in with students’ work commitments wherever practicable. Class sizes are small and the programme team is friendly, supportive and helpful.  Teachers on the course team are professionals with substantial experience in the business world.

Following successful completion of the foundation degree, you can apply to progress to the final year of the BA (Hons) Business Management programme.
