Interviews for higher education courses
at Bury College University Centre:


When you apply for a higher education course you may be
required to attend an interview with a member of the teaching team. Interviews will focus on some of the following, as appropriate:


Academic potential

•   Quality of completion of application form
•   Relevance of portfolio
•   Evidence of background reading


Motivation

•   Awareness of nature of course
•   Reasons for choosing this qualification
•   Evidence of commitment (e.g. previous study experiences)
•   Enthusiasm for subject area
•   Career aspirations/vocational choices


Relevant experience

•   Work experience
•   Demonstration of ability by audition (where appropriate)
•   Voluntary/community work
•   Enthusiasm for subject area
•   Career aspirations/vocational choices


Organisational ability

•   Willingness to take responsibility
•   Time management
•   Ability to manage change
•   Ability to work under pressure
•   Punctuality
